FROM THE NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
Dear services and providers
We would like to remind you that all staff who live or work in the 12 LGAs of concern will be required to have one dose of vaccine by 6 September and their second dose by 8 November. Priority Pfizer vaccination appointments are still available for staff in LGAs of concern. In addition, the NSW Government has advised that all remaining early childhood educators are required to have received two doses of COVID-19 vaccination by 8 November to ensure the health and safety of our early childhood education and care community. The Public Health Order is being amended to reflect this requirement. We have been working with NSW Health to ensure priority access to vaccinations for educators and outline details in this email.
6 September priority vaccination week for Greater Sydney services and providers
Priority Pfizer vaccination appointments are available to staff who live or work in the LGAs of concern.
In addition, NSW Health will provide priority AstraZeneca vaccinations at Qudos Bank Arena for all remaining Greater Sydney school-based and ECE staff during the week beginning 6 September to ensure educators can meet the 8 November deadline. Appointment spots open today via the NSW Health website. There will be no code required to prove eligibility, your staff can begin booking spots as soon as they are open. Staff are also encouraged to make use of the GP network, walk-in vaccination clinics and pharmacies to be vaccinated with whatever vaccine is available as soon as possible.
